2021

Resolution

  • Resolution to Float a Microfinance Bank in Ubulu Uku with proposed names was taken by members of Ubulu-Uku Community
  • The consultants took over from there and after a name search with the corporate affairs commission ANIOMA MICROFINANCE BANK WAS RESERVED
  • Enquiries were made at the Central Bank of Nigeria to ascertain the prevailing conditions for the Floating, licensing and operations of a Microfinance bank. To this end, The CBN gave a myriad of conditions and processes for the establishment and operation of a Microfinance Bank. The consultants copiously followed those processes and fulfilled all the CBN Conditions…Though it was protracted and not easy.

    Certificate

    The application for Approval in Principle was made to CBN through application letter dated 8Th December, 2022. With the submission of all the required documents to the CBN, Bank Examiners were sent on two occasions for verification purposes. During the Examination.
    With compliance to all the CBN requirements, payment of the fees and Regulatory capital to CBN’s account and satisfactory documentation, Central Bank of Nigeria Approval in Principle (AIP) with Reference No. LAN: 010/20221214/1/001 was subsequently issued to Anioma Microfinance Bank Limited in their letter dated 20th September 2023.
    After protracted demands, scrutiny and inspection of the Bank’s site by CBN, The Banking License Approval was finally issued ON 21ST May, 2024 to ANIOMA MICROFINANCE BANK LIMITED to operate a TIER 2 Single Unit Microfinance Bank with a promise to issue the banking license in due course.

    Commenced Operation

    Anioma Microfinance Bank being a diversified and technology based Microfinance Bank commenced operation on 1st July, 2024. The grand opening ceremony of the bank which attracted the presence of sons and daughters of Ubulu-Uku was witnessed by officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) led by the Delta State Branch Controller of CBN, Mr. Godwin Okafo Speaking as the special guest of honor at the event, Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza said “it is with great pleasure and a measure of excitement that I join you today as Special Guest of Honour for this historic occasion of the Official unveiling of Anioma Micro Finance Bank Limited here in Ubulu-Uku.
